Job Description
- Perform a full range of basic audiological assessments (otoscopy, PTA, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, speech tests, OAE, etc.), obtain case histories, use proper patient identifiers, and document results accurately in the EMR system.
- Interpret audiological findings and provide counselling to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
- Manage hearing aid services, including evaluation, device selection, fitting, user education, troubleshooting, repairs coordination, follow-up reviews, and outcome verification (e.g., REM, functional gain).
- Handle ear impressions for earmoulds and swim plugs, and support implant services such as programming and rehabilitation for middle ear and cochlear implant users.
- Collaborate with clinicians, technicians, nurses, vendors, and other professionals make appropriate referrals and integrate audiological results with medical and social information.
- Carry out equipment calibration, inventory control, ordering of consumables/devices, and ensure proper maintenance and documentation of all equipment.
- Manage general administrative tasks, including responding to inquiries, preparing reports and minutes, compiling statistics, and assisting with staff scheduling.
- Train and supervise junior staff, deliver in-service education, participate in workshops and seminars to stay updated, and support research and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possess a recognised tertiary qualification in Audiology.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred (but not essential).
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
