Responsible for the operation of the Atelier in the assigned pre-schools.
Support children's creativity and learning through working directly with children alongside teachers in rooms and specifically in the Atelier, to provide experiences and provocations for the children and to observe and document the learning process in detail.
Work with other Educators to create mini-atelier spaces in the centre and within each classroom, providing a range of materials and tools to stimulate inquiry and support sustained learning.
Ensure that there is a broad range of creative experiences available for the children at all times to encourage ideas, exploration and questions and develop their ability to express themselves in as many ways as possible.
Undertake documentation and interpretation of children's learning processes, using narratives, photos, videos and posts to make learning visible.
Develop teaching staff awareness of working with children to encourage their learning through creative expression, individually, and as part of a group.
Provide in-house training on the Reggio Emilia approach
Create an aesthetic environment in the ateliers and influence the aesthetic environment in the pre-schools.
Requirements:
Have an ECDA L2 LON
Have between 3 to 5 years of relevant professional teaching experience, preferably in a pre-school environment.
Have relevant experience in teaching art related subjects such as visual arts and/or performing arts.
Knowledge of or willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry based learning is required.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with digital software like Office.
Good interpersonal skills, able to work with all levels of staff across Departments and able to work independently.
