Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) is a member of Outward Bound International - a global network of Outward Bound schools operating in 34 countries. Established in 1967, OBS is recognised for its leading experience in outdoor education with more than 500,000 people trained. The Sector Development team at OBS supports the Outdoor Adventure Education (OAE) Council to uplift the standard and safety of Singapore's OAE sector, in support of the National OAE Masterplan.
As an Assistant Manager / Senior Executive (Sector Development – Design Specialist), you will play a key role in developing visual assets and supporting engagement activities to advance the OAE Council initiatives. Your work will elevate the Council's stakeholder communications and drive the successful delivery of engagement events.
What You Will Be Working On
You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the OAE sector's dynamics and take full ownership of all phases of design projects. This includes gathering information, assessing feasibility of new creative content and translating insights into successful design outcomes. Additionally, you will support coordination of engagement activities to drive campaign effectiveness and meaningful stakeholder participation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design outreach and communication materials – Create infographics, newsletters, and promotional content to inform stakeholders and encourage participation in Council initiatives.
- Develop educational resources – Design materials that promote safety and quality in OAE programmes.
- Enhance digital assets – Refine the SingaporeOAE website, review and update imagery, and produce event collaterals that reflect the Council's visual identity.
- Support pre-event planning, preparation and administrative tasks – Develop and disseminate event materials such as invitation emails, registration forms, programme information, venue information and directions, lanyards, name tags and signages, etc.
- Support event-day logistics - Perform ground-level support and execution pertaining to venue, equipment, attendees and programme to ensure event runs smoothly.
- Manage post-event activities – Draft follow-up emails, produce event infographics that capture key highlights, and perform basic descriptive analysis of event evaluation findings.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a resilient person who is willing to learn, thrives on managing multiple priorities, and delivers quality work under tight deadlines. In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the below:
- Background and experience in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field will be advantageous.
- Proven experience in generating engaging digital assets and visual content, including illustrations and outreach materials using design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Canva.
- Prior experience in event coordination, stakeholder engagement, or related client-facing roles will be advantageous.
- Experience in navigating online registration platforms and event management tools like Gevme and Eventbrite.
- Good written and communication skills.
- Able to work effectively with stakeholders and in cross-functional teams.
- Able to travel occasionally to various OBS campuses (e.g. Pulau Ubin, East Coast, Punggol Reception & Activity Centre, and OBS@Coney) as required.
