Shape Singapore's Health at the National Level
Are you a medical doctor looking to make an impact beyond a clinical setting Whether you are a junior doctor exploring your career options, or an established clinician contemplating new challenges to contribute at the national level, consider a career at the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Under the MOH Medical Service Scheme employment, you will bring your clinical lens and expertise to national healthcare policies and influence decisions that shape the health of Singapore. You will work at the intersection of medicine and policy to design the healthcare systems and frameworks that aim to improve the health outcomes for the nation, and be part of the national health leadership.
You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time. This is a role for doctors who are energised by complexity, motivated by purpose, and ready to drive healthcare transformation at a national scale.
What You Will Be Working On
You will contribute across four key domain areas:
- Healthcare Regulation — Safeguarding standards and ensuring the safety, quality, and integrity of Singapore's healthcare system.
- Manpower Development & Capability Building — Shaping the pipeline and professional development of Singapore's healthcare workforce.
- Population Health & Health Services — Designing and delivering health programmes and services that keep Singaporeans healthy across their life course.
- Quality, Value & Informatics — Driving innovation, data-driven decision making, and value in healthcare delivery.
At more senior levels, you may also lead and manage a team.
As part of your development, you may also be rotated to other public sector agencies and organisations within the broader healthcare ecosystem — such as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Health Promotion Board (HPB), Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA), or the public healthcare clusters. Your postings will be carefully designed to broaden your exposure and deepen your understanding of how policy translates into operations on the ground, equipping you with a well-rounded perspective to grow and contribute meaningfully throughout your career with MOH.
While you will mostly be involved in healthcare policy work, you may also continue with sessional clinical practice, if you prefer, at the public healthcare institutions, so that you can maintain your clinical currency and familiarity with ground operations.

We welcome applications from medical doctors who are registered with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) and remain in good standing. Beyond your medical qualifications, we are looking for doctors who embody the following:

We are also looking for doctors who demonstrate strength in systems thinking — the ability to understand complex healthcare ecosystems as a whole— as well as strategic thinking and the leadership capacity to inspire and guide teams through transformation.
