Job Description

Overall Summary:

The Network Engineer is responsible for thedesign, installation, configuration and maintenance of Software Defined Network (SDN) infrastructure. His/her primary responsibilities include the design and buildof network infrastructure components, and integrating technologies from various virtualised servers and storage vendors. He/She manages and optimises complexcore networks and configures network equipment and software to ensure alignmentwith defined network performance levels and security standards and regulations.He/she collaborates across network and orchestration teams to ensure the smoothdelivery of end-to-end network slicing and automation solutions. He/she is knowledgeable in the use of networking systems and devices, firewalls, wirelesscontrols and technology, network standards including 5G, and network routing protocols.

He / She leads projects, prioritises andassigns tasks to ensure that team's resources are used effectively and thatinfrastructure projects are implemented in accordance with plans and budgets.

Candidate is required to be on standby with on-call availability with varied shiftsincluding nights, weekends and holidays. He / She is organised with stronganalytical and troubleshooting skills and has a passion for innovation and newtechnologies and is adaptable to dynamic environments. Candidate must also beable to work well with the team and able to guide them to ensure infrastructure projects are well implemented.

Role and Responsibilities:

Project Management

. Assist with the planning and design of infrastructuresystems

. Assist with the documentation ofinfrastructure design and planning activities and decisions.

. Stakeholder Management

Configure & Administer Network

. Design cost-effective network systems and services that meet productspecifications and comply to standards and best practices

. Prepare and execute test plans including integration, performance, coverageand capacity verification

. Review technical documents for processes, technology and devices

. Designate the direction for Local Area Network (LAN) and/or Wide Area Network(WAN), internet, wireless, and remote access services

. Validate the Software Defined Network (SDN) infrastructure within the ITecosystem

. Oversee the installation, upgrading, operation, control, maintenance andeffective use of LAN and/or WAN for the communication of data, voice, text orimages

. Perform technical evaluation and proof-of-concept of new technologies fornetwork infrastructure

. Review releases, upgrades and fixes available from systems software andsupplies and identify those which merit action

Manage Network Operations & Incidents

. Manage network infrastructure to ensure alignment of technical requirements

. Provide technical inputs on the procurement of network equipment and ensurecompliance with procurement policies

. Develop the disaster recovery plan, processes and protocols for disasterrecovery of network infrastructure

. Ensure disaster recovery plan testing activities are performed and technicalcriteria are met

. Perform network fault troubleshooting and root cause analysis to locate sourcesof network issues

. Develop and verify recovery solutions in test environments and execute inproduction network

. Implement automation workflow for the management of repeated network issuesin collaboration with relevant teams

. Plan and coordinate network security measures for network infrastructure,software and data

Qualification/ Requirements:

  • Possess a diploma or degree in Engineering or IT or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate/ Professional (CCNA / CCNP-Enterprise) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience and strong knowledge in Enterprise IT infrastructure, including routing, switching, wireless and load balancers and project management experience.
  • Good to have security background of firewall , F5 and proxy
  • Experience with Cisco products and NAC (network access control)
  • Able to do procurement papers for approvals
  • Solid technical skills in networking, and security.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communicationskills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable to support 24/7 standby
  • Open to travel to different sites
  • Comfortable to 2 years direct contract
