Key Responsibilities:
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for supporting and conducting pre-clinical ocular research studies. This role involves working closely with the research team to execute, and analyze experiments aimed at understanding ocular diseases and testing potential treatments.
1. Experimentation and Data Collection:
. Conduct pre-clinical ocular research experiments under the guidance of senior researchers.
. Perform a variety of laboratory techniques including assist in procedures and tissue dissection.
. Operate and maintain specialized ocular research equipment and instruments.
2. Animal Handling and Care:
. Handle and care for laboratory animals in compliance with ethical standards and regulations.
. Assist in treatments and perform procedures on laboratory animals as required for research studies.
3. Data Management:
. Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and prepare reports summarizing pre and post op procedures.
4. Laboratory Maintenance:
. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory environment.
. Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies and inventory.
. Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
5. Compliance and Safety:
. Adhere to all institutional and governmental regulations regarding laboratory safety and animal care.
. Participate in safety training sessions and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
. Work collaboratively with other research team members and contribute to group meetings.

Requirements
. Degree in Veterinary Sciences
. Proficiency in laboratory techniques
. Experience with ocular research equipment and procedures is highly desirable.
. Animal Handling: Experience with laboratory animal care and handling.
. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in conducting experiments and recording data.
. Strong verbal communication skills.
. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
