Role Description / Areas of Responsibility
- The candidate will be working within the AEJ Shared Services team to provide oversight and governance to the Shared Service functions supporting Asia, including Japan Businesses and Entities.
- The candidate will be working closely with regional stakeholders and Shared Services teams to ensure appropriate processes and controls are in place to support business activities.
- Shared Services functions covered by the Oversight team include Listed Futures & Options, Settlements, Confirmations, Cash Management and Network management.
Main responsibilities are:
- Ensure all processes and procedures are in compliance with internal/external policies and regulations
- Primary point of contact with Japanese Businesses and Japanese Clients trading global products (listed securities and derivatives, FX, OTC derivatives)
- Review of KRI and KPI to ensure all relevant risks (completeness) are captured in a timely manner
- Ensure issues are escalated appropriately, and work with stakeholders to complete agreed actions.
- Represent the team in regional meetings with business and regional stakeholders to discuss projects, issues and outstanding risk items
- Perform trend and root cause analysis of KRI and KPI, to drive enhancements and improve the controls/ efficiency
- Perform analysis of new business and projects with the team to map out the required controls and processes to support the new business/ projects.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of direct experience supporting Japanese Global Markets Businesses and Clients
- Knowledge and prior experience working on listed derivative trade flow and Global Market products (i.e. FX or OTC derivatives)
- Fluency in both English and Japanese languages (both written and spoken) to provide oversight and governance to the Shared Service functions, supporting Asia, including Japan Businesses and Entities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education is required
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good analytical skills and ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Strong operational risk and control knowledge
- Familiarity with emerging/ disruptive technology such as robotics and/or macro/programming skills such as python will be an advantage
