Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking an ambitious team-player for the Equity Enhanced Indexing (EEI) department, part of the Asset Strategies investment area. EEI is responsible for maintaining the market exposure of the fund's global, diversified equity portfolios. We employ a wide range of strategies to enhance the return and risk/reward characteristics of our portfolios relative to the benchmark, where we utilise our broad investment universe and large inventory of holdings. Addressing the challenge of outperforming a dynamic benchmark involves a blend of active enhancement strategies, meticulous risk management and techniques for trading cost reduction. For analysis and implementation of positions we are active users of systems for data analytics.
What you will do
- Work as portfolio manager in the EEI team for developed markets in the Pacific region.
- Construct and implement positions in the markets and share investment responsibility with the Pacific team.
- Play a crucial role in further developing enhancement strategies.
- Monitor both aggregate and stock-specific investment parameters over time.
- Handle daily portfolio management tasks, including in-/outflows, transitions, index changes, corporate action elections, equity capital market events and work closely with stakeholders to facilitate efficient transitions.
- Analyse market opportunities, generate investment ideas, help to refine investment strategies and contribute to department-wide system development and research.
- Contribute to the team dialogue, investment discussions, feedback and meetings.
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers from other EEI investment teams across our global offices, and with traders, investment support analysts and system developers.
What you need
- Bachelor's or master's degree with strong academic records, preferably combining finance and data analytics,
- At least 3-5 years of experience from equity markets in general or the Pacific region in particular, and a strong interest to commit to Pacific markets.
- Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities, coupled with excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- High level of proficiency in processing and analysing data using a database system with SQL (such as Snowflake), programming (e.g. in Python with libraries for statistical analysis) and AI tools.
- English language proficiency on native level
- A high level of personal integrity and anticipated success in the mandatory security clearance for employment in Norges Bank (the Central Bank of Norway).
Who you are
We think you are an emotionally intelligent, intellectually curious and empathic individual who is creative in data analysis, automation and visualization. 3-5 years of relevant working experience is an advantage. You must be comfortable combining high-level efficiency with a thoughtful attention to detail when necessary.
We appreciate a track record of excellence, both individually and in teams, with a high level of integrity, and you must have an appreciation for giving and receiving constructive feedback.
