Job Description

About the Wealth Management Institute (WMI):

Established in 2003, the Wealth Management Institute (WMI) is committed to building capabilities for investing in a better tomorrow. Founded by GIC and Temasek, our vision is to be Asia's Centre of Excellence for wealth and asset management education and research.

WMI provides a comprehensive suite of practice-based certification and diploma programmes and collaborates with leading universities for master's qualifications. With over 17,000 annual enrolments, WMI serves a diverse community of professionals across Asia-including wealth managers, asset managers, lawyers, trust professionals, family offices, and financial regulators across more than 150 programmes. WMI is recognised as Singapore's lead training provider for private banking and wealth management.

WMI helms the Global-Asia Family Office (GFO) Circle, a trusted network platform that builds capabilities and fosters community within the family office sector. The GFO Circle is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). WMI also leads the Asia Centre for Changemakers (ACC), supported by Temasek Trust and the Philanthropy Asia Alliance (PAA).

Responsibilities:

You will help deliver WMI's applied research agenda focused on key issues affecting private wealth owners and family offices in Asia. WMI aims to provide practitioner-led insights, facilitate industry collaboration, and produce impactful research that supports Singapore's strategic position as a global wealth hub. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and communication skills, enabling the translation of research into actionable insights for industry stakeholders.

1) Practice-Based Research and Analysis

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of applied research projects on key topics such as wealth management, asset management, philanthropy, and sustainable finance, as well as other conjunctural topics of interest to WMI's community.
  • Conduct literature reviews, synthesize academic and practitioner research, and identify relevant gaps in both Asian and global contexts.
  • Carry out assigned qualitative and quantitative research tasks, which include surveys, interviews, and case studies involving industry professionals and wealth owners.
  • Analyse market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging best practices to enhance the quality of research output.

2) Industry Engagement

  • Collect input from stakeholders such as private banks, family offices, philanthropic organizations, regulators, and other relevant entities to ensure research is impactful and relevant.
  • Collaborate with external partners on joint research initiatives.
  • Support the preparation of white papers, policy briefs, and toolkits for practitioners.

3) Knowledge Dissemination

  • Collaborate with vendors to publish research in WMI reports, industry journals, and other reputable platforms.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to support and track research outreach efforts across various channels, including (but not limited to) websites, social media, and email campaigns.
  • Assist WMI's executive education, training programs, and outreach efforts by collaborating with various program teamstaking into account their respective objectivesto conduct research and incorporate insights into the curriculum and events.
  • Support WMI's thought leadership initiatives by engaging in projects that highlight research findings and insights.

4) Project Management

  • Track research timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure successful completion of projects, including meeting tight deadlines.
  • Support the team with a variety of tasks, including routine or ad hoc duties as needed to keep things running smoothly.
  • Contribute fundraising or grant applications for research initiatives where relevant.
  • Collaborate with designated vendor to create a community resource hub that integrates knowledge across WMI pillars.

Requirements:

Education Qualifications & Responsibility: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or related fields: postgraduate qualification desirable. Your scope of responsibility, autonomy, and visibility will evolve in line with your experience, skills, and domain expertise. High-performing individuals will be entrusted with owning entire workstreams from end to end. Emerging talent will play a critical role as core team members, benefiting from structured coaching, hands-on learning, and rapid professional development.

Experience: Preferably with 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in a high-performance organization, proven track record of generating analytical insights and translating them into business actions with measurable outcomes. Fresh graduates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, proactive learning mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment can be considered at the Associate level. Experience in wealth management, asset management, financial services, or philanthropy is a plus.

Skills:

  • Analytical skills, including proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, market structures, and investment strategies.
  • Communication skills with experience in creating high-quality written reports and presentations.
