The Company
Our client is an European-based manufacturer with more than 100 years of successful company history. Its technical solutions and applications serve across various industries such as automotive, electronics sector (e.g. smartphones, tablets), building supply and pharmaceuticals. They are seeking a commercially driven and hands-on finance professional (independent contributor) to join the Regional Controlling team based in Singapore.
The Role
In this role, you will partner closely with regional leadership to provide financial insights, challenge business performance, and support strategic decision-making across APAC. You will also play a key role in regional budgeting, forecasting, investment controllership, and cross-functional projects.
Key Responsibilities
Gross Margin Monitoring
- Provide regular analysis and visibility on gross margin trends, including price, mix, volume and cost drivers
- Monitor low-margin or loss-making transactions and work with stakeholders to drive improvements
- Support business leaders with actionable financial insights and performance analytics
Investment Controllership
- Drive regional investment planning and governance processes
- Review investment proposals and business cases to ensure sound financial evaluation
- Track investment performance and support post-investment reviews
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead and coordinate regional budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Ensure timely, accurate and high-quality financial projections to support strategic planning
- Partner closely with regional business stakeholders on financial planning initiatives
Entity Controllership
- Serve as the lead finance business partner for designated regional entities
- Manage intra-company allocations and related financial analysis
- Provide timely reporting and financial insights to functional stakeholders
Projects & Business Support
- Support regional finance transformation and strategic initiatives
- Participate in cross-functional projects either as project lead or key finance representative
- Collaborate with regional business units, country teams and HQ stakeholders
Your Profile
- A well-recognized degree in accountancy/finance/buinsess with professional qualification such as Certified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant, or equivalent.
- At least 8-12 years of relevant experience and proven track record in progressive MNC. Asia Pacific and regional HQ experience is a MUST.
- SAP experience is highly preferred, ideally with exposure to the CO module.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Hands-on, meticulous and able to work independently within a matrix organization.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced regional environment with tight timelines.
- Occasional regional travel may be required.
