Job Description

Position Overview

This role sits at the intersection of portfolio company finance, fund operations, and LP reporting, with high visibility to senior leadership.

You will start with strong ownership of portfolio monitoring and reporting, and progressively take on deeper fund-level operations, contributing to the long-term institutional strength of the firm.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Management & Monitoring

  • Act as the primary finance interface for portfolio companies on regular financial and operational reporting, governance compliance (board processes, audits, controls)
  • Track investment deployment, cash runway, and funding needs
  • Analyse portfolio performance to surface risks early and support GPs with insight
  • Support portfolio companies with fundraising preparation where needed
  • Perform quarterly internal portfolio valuation
  • Maintain portfolio and fund performance database

Fund Operations & Administratio

  • Prepare and manage capital calls across MHV fund
  • Work closely with external fund administrators on Quarterly close, Financial statement, LP reporting
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual investor reports
  • Oversee fund cash management, payments, and billing
  • Manage annual audits and audited financial statements
  • Update fund-level performance and forecasting model
  • Respond to LP information requests in a timely, accurate manner

Controls, Governance & Firm-building

  • Support development and implementation of internal financial control
  • Liaise with corporate secretarial firms and relevant regulators across jurisdictions
  • Support new fund launches from an operations and admin perspective
  • Help institutionalise processes as the firm scales
  • Liaise with relevant government agencies (Singapore, Japan, US, etc) for timely business reporting on the funds as required

Preferred Experience

5+ years of experience in:

  • Audit, transaction services, fund accounting, or portfolio finance
  • Big 4 experience strongly preferred
  • Exposure to venture capital, private equity, or asset management is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment
  • Able to manage multiple workstreams with strong prioritisation
  • Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Hands-on, accountable, and solutions-oriented
