Associate (Knowledge)

The Opportunity

CGG is looking for an Associate (Knowledge) to support the development, distribution and promotion of the CGGIand related index initiatives. This is a full-time, 4-month internship.

Each year, CGG publishes the Chandler Good Government Index (CGGI), which measures the capabilities and effectiveness of governments in 120 countries. CGGI spurs and supports governments to improve their performance, and is among the most established and comprehensive indices of its kind. We also partner with governments and international partners to develop other indices, data tools, publications and knowledge products that support public service leaders and institutions at national and sub-national levels.

Our products are distributed to the leaders and senior officials of over 100 governments around the world, as well as international and non-governmental organisations, experts, and media working in the areas of governance and public policy.

Responsibilities

1. Research & Documentation

• Index methodology, data sources, and research: Assist with literature scans, peer review, and data source verification for CGGI and other index projects. Support methodology checks and updates. Perform basic checks of applicable laws and regulations on data use and attribution under guidance.
• Documentation and materials development: Maintain data-source registers for each index, in line with established standards and attribution requirements. Update project trackers, timelines and repositories. Assist in developing presentation materials, briefing notes and meeting minutes to support internal reviews and external communications.
• Website maintenance: Propose practical improvements to navigation and user experience. Under the team's guidance, support updates to CGGI web content.

2. Programme Management & Outreach

• Stakeholder engagement: Coordinate correspondence and meetings with data providers, expert advisors, partner organisations, and vendors to support the development and promotion of CGGI and other index projects.
• Distribution management: Update and manage distribution lists used to disseminate CGGI and other knowledge products. Support mail-outs in line with established SOPs.
• Other administrative and logistical duties, as required.

Requirements and Experience

• This internship can be performed on a full-time basis for a minimum period of four months.
• A second or third-year undergraduate student, or recent graduate, in public policy, political science, data analytics, economics, law, or a related field
• Graduate students (Masters, PhDs) in relevant fields are also welcome
• Interested in global trends in governance and public policy
• Strong research and data analysis skills
• Excellent drafting ability and a strong command of written English
• Sound project management and stakeholder management skills, with attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (expertise in Excel is valued)
