What is the opportunity
As the Associate, FX Trader, you will be responsible for market making and risk managing for FX markets.
What will you do
Market making and risk managing for FX markets with specialization in EM:
- Ensure pricing is competitive and service clients in a manner that adds value to the Firm.
- Trade allocated currency pairs in a profitable and professional manner.
- Monitor DI from all distribution channels, price quickly and efficiently aiming to win the business during the Asian trading session.
- Cover various FX markets when required for the FX Trading business. Authority to trade FX options, interest rate derivatives and futures.
- Support the overall goals of the FX trading desks, including revenue targets and client service.
- Need to cover Wellington opening hours and public holidays when needed.
Interacting with clients and internal teams by sharing market color and view:
- Ensure relevant flow/info/views are communicated to the Sales desk.
Refining and creating trading/hedging strategies with analytics
Collaborating with various teams to expand the business and develop tools/systems:
- Deliver cross platform opportunities through coordination and connectivity with both the FX team and Fixed Income business partners.
- e FX - Work with relevant partners to help drive developments and grow revenues across the e platform. Ensure electronic pricing is tiered correctly to target clients.
- Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business.
- Work to prevent, to detect, and to eliminate the potential for risk and liability to the Firm.

What do you need to succeed
Must-have
Degree or equivalent is required
The role would typically 2-4 years of macro market experience, preferably in market making/trading
Strong understanding of market dynamics and fundamentals
Analytical, quantitative, decision-making skills
Understanding and adherence to financial regulations and code of conduct
