Associate Engineer (Planning 2)

Responsibilities

• Oversee pipe and fibre infrastructure planning and execution. Conduct cable surveys and assess the capacity of each cab, compiling comprehensive site survey reports. Lead and guide technicians in executing projects while supervising contractors on-site, particularly in areas with restricted access. Address and resolve on-site issues related to pipes and cables, coordinating with provisioning teams and contractors for timely project completion. Ensure deadlines for customer-ready fibre cable schemes are consistently met for swift service delivery. Participate in site meetings with various stakeholders, including public entities and private developers, regarding the installation and diversion of underground utilities. Supervise the implementation of access fibre cable works, adhering to all operational procedures and engineering standards. Take ownership of fibre splicing, termination, patching, and testing to maintain service quality. Conduct power meter and OTDR tests to verify contractor work quality. Manage maintenance activities for pipe and fibre infrastructure, including emergency response to cable breakdowns and system outages. Be on standby and respond to site mobilizations as required. Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Strong operational management skills and the ability to effectively coordinate with contractors and internal teams. Willingness to be on standby for restoration tasks as needed.
