Temasek Foundation (TF) supports a diverse range of programmes that connects people, uplifts communities, protects our planet and advances capabilities in Singapore, Asia and beyond. Temasek Foundation's programmes, made possible through philanthropic endowments gifted by Temasek, strive towards achieving positive outcomes for individuals and communities now, and for generations to come.
The Associate Director (Strategic Comms & Alumni Engagement) is responsible for developing and leading TF's strategic engagement and alumni activation strategy. This includes shaping the brand narrative across signature cause areas, designing public-facing engagement opportunities that put TF in front of the general public, building a structured alumni engagement model under the TF & Friends (TFF) framework, and overseeing the work of an external vendor/agency. This role will require close collaboration with the Foundation's Programmes and Communications Teams, as well as facilitation of a cross-team Strategic Engagement Committee to coordinate efforts across the organisation.
Reporting to Head (Corporate Development), the Associate Director (Strategic Comms & Alumni Engagement) is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Co-design TF's strategic brand narrative – including messaging framework, editorial calendar, and narrative positioning across signature cause areas – in partnership with the Communications Team, ensuring a consistent and compelling voice across all engagement touchpoints.
- Identify, shape, and oversee public-facing engagement opportunities in TF's signature cause areas (climate and health), working with Programme Teams to design activations – such as community roadshows, pop-up exhibitions, and public forums – that build brand awareness with the general public, not just programme participants or sector stakeholders.
- Facilitate the cross-team Strategic Engagement Committee, coordinating efforts between Programmes and Communications Teams to ensure alignment on engagement strategy, activation priorities, and resource allocation.
- Develop and oversee TF's alumni strategy under the TFF framework: long-term roadmap, tiered engagement model, priority segments, and frameworks for embedding alumni in programme activations as volunteers, speakers, mentors, and advocates.
- Oversee, brief, and manage the external vendor/agency for specific programmes, campaigns, and activations, ensuring deliverables are aligned with strategic objectives and brand standards.
- Cultivate high-value alumni, including senior leaders, sector influencers, and prominent programme graduates, as well as identify profiling opportunities at external platforms and events.
- Define the KPI framework and success metrics in public brand engagement and alumni activation; interpret results and report outcomes to Board/management.
- Manage the unit's engagement budgets and ensure optimal utilisation towards organisational KPIs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public policy, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, community/alumni engagement, or brand strategy, preferably in the non-profit, public, or social sector, or with a relevant agency.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering public-facing engagement programmes, activations, or campaigns that drive measurable brand awareness or community outcomes.
- Strong understanding of alumni or community engagement models, including CRM systems, segmentation strategies, and tiered engagement frameworks.
- Experience managing external vendors or agencies, including briefing, quality assurance, and performance oversight.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with ability to define KPIs, interpret data, and present insights to senior leadership.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage effectively across senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing budgets and measuring KPIs.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional collaboration across multiple teams.
- A strong command of the English language with ability to tailor messaging to suit different audiences and platforms.
