Job Description

Rimkus is expanding its Asia-Pacific operations and is seeking to appoint an Associate Director - Quantum within our Singapore team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quantity surveying professional looking to advance their career within a global claims consultancy.

The Role

You will work on a diverse range of commissions, either based in Rimkus's office or on-site with clients, spanning project advisory, claims consulting, and expert services.

In this role, you will provide commercial and contractual expertise to a diverse range of organisations across transport infrastructure, aviation, data centre's, residential and commercial building sectors; take ownership of client relationships and manage day-to-day needs; identify and manage contractual entitlements; and offer expert commercial insights into cost and program challenges.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • A qualification in quantity surveying, civil engineering, accounting, law, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of 10 years industry experience working for a construction or engineering contractor and/or specialist consultancy;
  • Live project experience;
  • Experience writing and managing claims for extensions of time, prolongation, and disruption;
  • Excellent working knowledge of the NEC and FIDIC suite of contracts;
  • Excellent letter and report writing skills;
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience;
  • The ability to process, model, and present large data sets; a capacity for analytical thinking and problem solving;
  • The ability to work with a variety of people to achieve the correct outcomes for the client or project.
  • Insurance claims experience (desirable but not essential)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Managerment construction management, or a related field;
  • Achieved or working towards a Masters Degeee in Construction Law
  • Achieved or working towards MRICS
  • Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience working for a construction or engineering contractor or specialist claims consultancy (project delivery experience essential);
  • Experience working on contentious claims (highly regarded), especially arbitration and/or other formal claims resolution;
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft large sections of professional reports;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience.
