About the team

Airwallex's global Product Legal Team works cross-functionally and across multiple jurisdictions to facilitate the development and launch of cutting-edge products in existing and new markets. The team plays a critical part in supporting the continued development of Airwallex's suite of products and ensuring that products are launched in compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements.

What you'll do

As the Associate Director, Product Legal, Financial & Strategic Partnerships you will help our rapidly growing business navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape by translating legal advice into actionable solutions.

You will have multi-regional responsibility by supporting one or more of Airwallex's key product domains globally, including in the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Europe, and potentially other markets.

Responsibilities:

• Trusted business partner to the Product teams and other stakeholders responsible for launching and developing products in the Airwallex product suite

• Support Product stakeholders throughout the entire product lifecycle. Provide advice on the legal and regulatory aspects of new product ideas as well as enhancements to existing products, from ideation through to launch and expansion

• Coordinate with local counsel across jurisdictions such as Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the U.S., the U.K., and the European Union to discern and devise optimal paths to market for key products from a regulatory and legal perspective

• Translate legal and regulatory advice into actionable solutions that can be integrated into the product development process

• Identify synergies and efficiencies in product development across jurisdictions from a legal and regulatory perspective as products scale and expand into new markets

• Become an expert in key products in Airwallex's product suite, understand the commercial drivers and provide legal and regulatory advice that is strategic and solution-orientated

• Collaborate with the Regulatory Compliance team and Product Marketing team

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

• Law degree from a renowned university and at least 10 years of post-qualification experience, at least some of which at a top tier law firm

• Strong regulatory advisory and/or commercial disputes experience with reputable law firms, financial institutions or fintechs.

• Proven experience of being a solution-orientated lawyer who enjoys working strategically with non-lawyers to support commercial end-results

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills and ability to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders

• Proactive, results-driven, and take ownership of your work
