About the Role

ANZ has one of the largest Loan Syndications teams in the Asia-Pacific with specialists based in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, New York and London. The team specialises in originating, structuring, arranging, underwriting and distributing syndicated loan products.

This role is Singapore-based and will support the delivery of corporate and structured syndicated lending solutions to ANZ's customer base across Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East. The role involves working extensively with borrowers, investors and internal stakeholders including coverage teams and other product partners in Corporate Finance. In this role, you will also provide support to other Corporate Finance teams, including Acquisition Finance to support deal flow as necessary.

What will you bring

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Experience in loan syndications and complex debt structuring.
• Experience and understanding of ANZ's home markets of Australia & New Zealand to support borrower activity into these markets from Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East (and vice versa).
• Established external loan market networks within ANZ's home markets of Australia & New Zealand.
• Understanding of accounting principles and credit risk assessment fundamentals.
• An established knowledge of facility documentation and negotiation experience.
• Additional product experience, ideally in M&A and/or acquisition finance is preferred.
• Influencing skills, with ability to efficiently manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills including competent time management with the ability to work across multiple transactions and deal teams concurrently.
• Experience presenting to clients, investors and the broader market.
• Mandarin language skills considered favourable.

What will your day look like

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Supporting the origination of new syndicated loan mandates across a portfolio of existing and target customers.
• Providing insight, ideas and solutions to our customers for their varied financing needs.
• Proactively targeting event driven financing opportunities.
• Developing thoroughly considered underwriting proposals and market liquidity analysis on transaction opportunities.
• Supporting deal teams in ensuring these transactions are executed efficiently while providing an exceptional customer experience.
• Representing ANZ in the external market and developing/maintaining strong investor and client relationships.
• Helping to expand the pool of investors available for the distribution of loan transactions.
• Providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the team.
