A prestigious alternative investment firm in Singapore is seeking an Associate Director, FP&A to play a pivotal role in building and scaling their FP&A function. What You'll Do
As an Associate Director, FP&A, you will be instrumental in shaping how the FP&A function supports both operational excellence and strategic growth.
- Assist in building and maintaining comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans that underpin the firm's strategic objectives.
- Develop, analyse, and enhance revenue, expense, and allocation models by consolidating information currently dispersed across multiple teams.
- Perform detailed variance analysis against budget and prior periods to identify key drivers and emerging trends that inform management decisions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc management reports including dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level presentations tailored for senior stakeholders.
- Respond promptly to management requests by delivering deep-dive analyses that provide clear explanations behind the numbers rather than just presenting data.
- Collaborate closely with investment, operations, and other business units to improve financial transparency and awareness throughout the organisation.
- Act as a trusted thought partner to stakeholders by helping them understand the financial implications of their business decisions in a clear and accessible manner.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities by reviewing financial statements and accruals in partnership with accounting teams to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure consistency and reliability of data across all financial reports through diligent data scrubbing, consolidation, and reconciliation from multiple sources.
- Contribute actively to process improvements by assisting with automation initiatives as well as testing, implementing, and optimising SaaS performance management tools.
What You Bring
Your background includes significant hands-on experience in financial planning and analysis roles within asset management or alternative investment environments.
- Proven experience in financial planning and analysis within asset management, hedge funds or alternative investments is highly desirable for this position.
- Advanced analytical skills combined with strong financial modelling capabilities enable you to interpret complex data sets effectively.
- Solid accounting knowledge ensures you can confidently review financial statements and support close activities with accuracy.
- Expert proficiency in Excel allows you to build sophisticated models while advanced PowerPoint skills help you communicate insights clearly.
- A track record of operating independently demonstrates your comfort with minimal supervision as well as your ability to take full ownership of projects from inception through completion.
- A Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (or equivalent experience) provides a strong academic foundation for this role.
- Experience collaborating across multiple business units highlights your interpersonal skills and ability to foster trust-based relationships within diverse teams.
- Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives shows your commitment to driving efficiency through automation or system enhancements.
- Ability to consolidate data from disparate sources ensures reliable analytics that support sound decision-making at all levels of the organisation.
