Job Description

Sandpiper, one of the fastest growing reputation and policy management consultancies in the world, is seeking an Associate Director to join our firm.

We are looking for a creative, energetic, and experienced strategic communications professional to join our regional Asia Pacific team, based in Singapore. The ideal candidate will participate in shaping client strategies and contributing to the growth and management of the agency business in Asia Pacific.

An Associate Director at Sandpiper shapes, and oversees the planning and delivery of client programmes, deliver strategic advice to clients, provide senior counsel, direction and advice to clients and colleagues, and work with the senior team to fulfil management responsibilities and strategic development of the financial services practice.

At a general level, the responsibilities include the following:

1. Have accountability for identifying and winning new business andidentifying cross-selling opportunities with existing clients across the globalbusiness and different practice areas.

2. Manage, motivate, retain, and develop employees within the market andacross the broader business.

3. Be a role model for Sandpiper's values and behaviours, including thecompany's one P&L approach.

Business development (BD)

. Responsible for growing existing business andwinning new business (strategy through to presentation).

. Is established externally with an industryprofile which unlocks future new business opportunities for practice.

. Delivers insights for clients and colleagues.

. Leads new businessbriefs with tenacity to deliver industry leading solutions / campaigns.

. Challenges clients to push boundaries anddelivers fresh thinking to new business and client opportunities.

Client handling and account management

. Responsible for effective and timely deliveryof all account actions.

. Oversees all client contact takes lead inclient meetings and is day-to-day lead on client counsel.

. Chair and facilitate meetings.

. Oversee billing and servicing on accounts onappropriate accounts.

. Independently manage projects on largeraccounts.

. Encourage the team to think about innovativeways to present ideas and work to clients.

. Foster and maintain peer level interagencyrelationships.

. Lead relationship building initiatives withclients.

. High level of written and verbalcommunication.

Measurement and performance

. Works with their clients to set an annualplan and a clear direction for their programme.

. Works with the client to develop and seteffective and achievable measurements and KPIs for client programmes.

. Ensures proper workingprocesses are in place

. to ensure a consistently high standard of clientwork is delivered. Promotes qualitywork and has strong attention to detail.

. Ensures KPIs setwith clients are met and/or exceeded.

. Ensures efficient servicing.

. Able to tailor best practice measurement to client needs.

Strategy and innovation

. Works with clients and teams toarticulate a brief and how to respond.

. Can question the business problem we aretrying to solve.

. Can redefine the business problem.

. Shows confidence in use of research, insightsand planning tools available at Sandpiper.

. Able to draw new evidence-based insights andrecommendations.

. Leads and signs off on all proposaldevelopment collates and distils allresearch,

. leads on strategydevelopment and approach.

. Applies energy and rigour to insight led ideageneration, demanding creative excellence on all client and new biz briefs.

. Competently facilitates and leads creative process.

. Drives innovationacross the business.Challenges clients and team to think differently.

. Ensures client programmes continue to be innovative and cutting edge

Media and Industry relations

. Identifies and articulates opportunities forengagement/ campaigning and leads strategy, creative, tactics, costings andimpact.

. Leads on issues and crisis management,including CEO counsel.

. Has a full knowledge of how to use Sandpiper's digital tools for insight and influence.

. Authoritative on business, political,industry, government and policy trends and regularly updates agency.

. Regularly createsrelevant external content.

. Significant business, political and digital understanding and rich practical experience.

. Strategic and innovative understanding of channel and content.

. Expert inone or more of our relevant sectors.

People Management

. Oversees full account team delivery.

. Provides leadership example and guidance topeers and colleagues

. Delivers internal trainingand manages account performance and resourcingissues.

. Has line management responsibility and is involvedin recruitment.
