The Associate Director, Customer Facing Technologies will lead the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of PPG's eCommerce, loyalty, API distribution, and customer‑facing technology platforms. It is responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing innovative products and services, and ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of industry trends.

The position will drive the design and execution of PPG's Digital Strategy with an AI‑first approach, working closely with cross‑functional teams including IT, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and HR to bring new ideas to life and accelerate growth.

A key focus will be innovating with digital technologies to achieve simplicity, while maintaining flexibility, adaptability, and versatility as the data landscape expands.

This role combines digital product leadership, travel‑commerce expertise, and technology delivery to create intuitive customer experiences and scalable commercial capabilities across both direct and partner channels.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Strategy & Vision: Define the futuristic architecture for PPG e-commerce platform & digital distribution network.
  • System Design & Integration: Build event-driven pipelines that link storefronts to external systems using APIs and messaging queues.
  • Scalability & Performance: Utilize content delivery networks (CDNs), serverless computing, and microservices on platforms like Adobe, AWS or Google Cloud to ensure solutions are high-performing, resilient and capable of supporting high transaction volumes.
  • Security & Site Reliability Engineering: Implement WAFs, data encryption, and robust authentication to protect transactions and customer data.
  • PPG e-Marketplace
  • Architectural revamp to build PPG's marketplace for services including Lounges, Hotels and Airport Passenger Services to increase the direct revenue
  • Designing the overall structure (business, data, application, technology) and ensuring systems integrate effectively.
  • Improve product and content discoverability across search engines, on-site search and AI-enabled channels.
  • Apply analytics, experimentation, personalization and AI to improve customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Implement state-of-art technology backbone with collaboration with partners such as Adobe, Microsoft, AWS and niche AI technology products.
  • Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage high-performing teams of data scientists, ML engineers, and developers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with executive leadership to identify business challenges solvable by AI and communicate technical roadmaps to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partnership & Ecosystem: Maintain relationships with vendors, academia, and tech partners to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's or master's Degree holder in computer science, information technology or related discipline. Relevant technology certification will be a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in Technology including E-Commerce, Cloud, AI, Machine Learning, IoT
  • Strong knowledge of AI Frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Airline/Airport Hospitality Industry experience is a must
  • Experience in OneOrder will be a plus
  • Proven track record of driving innovation and delivering impactful AI Solutions.
  • Strong analytical mindset and able to manage complexity with good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently on complex tasks which require analysis and action.
  • Flexible to travel
