Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with companies across the Electronics vertical (including semiconductors, advanced packaging, and embedded systems) to understand their strategic objectives, business models, and technology requirements.
- Engage with scientific units, research institutions, and innovation hubs to identify relevant capabilities that can be commercialized or co-developed with the private sector. Facilitate collaborative projects between industry and R&D to bring innovative products and solutions to market.
- Champion the commercialization of research by structuring industry-research partnerships, licensing opportunities, or spin-offs. Translate complex technical concepts and government policies into actionable business insights for stakeholders and senior management.
- Collaborate with key external stakeholders-industry players, government agencies, researchers, and investors-to shape the strategic direction of the Electronics sector in Singapore. Influence decision-making processes and advocate for initiatives that align with national objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of officers by assigning roles that best leverage their capabilities and support their professional development. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
Requirements:
- PhD in Electrical/Electronics/Material Engineering or related field.
- Masters Degree with several years of experience will also be considered.
- 7-years of experience in the electronics space, with 3-years of leadership/business development/strategic planning experience.
- Experience in semiconductor fabrication, equipment development, and local enterprise development will be a big advantage.
- Strong communication skill (oral and written) is a must.
- Proven history of influencing key decision makers and stakeholders.
