    Our client is a global strategic intelligence and advisory firm supporting leading multinational corporations, financial institutions, and investment funds. They specialise in delivering high-quality commercial due diligence, risk analysis, and market intelligence across complex and high-growth markets, particularly in Asia. Their work combines deep research, human source intelligence, and strategic analysis to help clients make informed investment and business decisions.

    As an Associate Director, Asia, you will plan and manage strategic intelligence projects across Asia with an 8+ year track record in strategic consultancy, commercial advisory, or an associated industry with high levels of commercial and cultural awareness

    Responsibilities
    Commercial Due Diligence & Counterparty Analysis
    - Lead end-to-end due diligence engagements across Asia, assessing commercial, regulatory, and political risks across sectors and markets
    - Define key lines of enquiry and investigative priorities based on evolving risk landscapes
    - Develop and execute interview strategies, including engagement with senior industry sources
    - Oversee research methodologies, including public records and open-source intelligence

    Intelligence Assessment & Analysis
    - Evaluate and triangulate multiple intelligence streams to assess credibility and relevance
    - Critically assess commercial, operational, and integrity-related risks
    - Interrogate findings, challenge assumptions, and pursue additional investigative leads where required

    Client Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
    - Deliver high-quality briefings to global clients, including Fortune 50 companies and leading investment funds
    - Present findings to senior stakeholders, including deal teams, legal counsel, and C-suite executives
    - Translate complex intelligence into clear, commercially relevant insights

    Reporting & Deliverables
    - Produce structured, concise, and commercially focused written reports
    - Synthesise complex datasets and qualitative insights into actionable recommendations
    - Clearly articulate risk factors, benchmarks, and key considerations for client decision-making

    Network Development
    - Build, maintain, and expand a robust network of human intelligence sources across Asia
    - Identify gaps in regional, sectoral, and jurisdictional coverage and proactively address them

Qualifications

  • Requirement

    Requirements & Preferences
    (Must)
    - Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree
    - 8 years of experience producing complex commercial report writing and advisory, such as consultancy, law, compliance advisory, investment advisory, business journalism, corporate project/transactional management, qualitative evaluation, social research, and commercial due diligence.
    - 6 years of expertise and strong understanding of commercial and regulatory risk environments across Asia, with deep expertise in at least one APAC market.
    - At least 3 years experience managing others and leading projects
    - Fluency in English (written and spoken) at a professional level
    - High levels of commercial awareness (able to quickly understand a company's value chain, corporate governance and processes, touchpoints with government and regulatory bodies, and potential commercial and regulatory risks associated with its sector).
    - High levels of cultural awareness (able to appreciate differences and similarities between business practices and expectations in different geographies, underpinned by an interest in Asian politics, business, and current affairs)
