The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time.

Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan's leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive data projects end-to-end, presenting results to key stakeholders and senior management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, data scientists and cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and synthesize requirements.
• Generate insights and in-depth analysis from data and present findings to key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Write and run SQL queries for purposes of generating insights for the business and analysis.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows to process and analyze large volumes of data.
• Create visually appealing and insightful data visualizations to communicate complex findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of data modeling fundamentals and contribute to the design and development of enterprise data models.
• Document methodologies, procedures, and findings in a clear and concise manner to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and apply statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in large and complex datasets.
• Drive campaign execution end-to-end, from pre-sizing of campaign bases to extraction of campaign leads to post-campaign results analysis
• Contribute to the design and implementation of experiments to test hypotheses and validate model performance.
• Identify and resolve any data quality issues or data gaps that might hinder analysis.

Requirements

Experience

• At least 1-5 years of experience in data analytics or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL is mandatory, proficiency in Python is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (preferably Qlik).
• Previous industry experience in life insurance is preferred.
• Experience in using GenAI tools or AI agents for coding purposes or data analysis is preferred.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex results into understandable and actionable insights.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or above in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
