Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Associate Counsellor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in relationship and couples therapy, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to helping individuals and couples navigate challenges and enhance their relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead individual and joint counselling sessions to support individuals and couples in overcoming relationship challenges and achieving therapeutic goals
- Collaborate with clients to assess needs, define clear objectives, and develop tailored treatment plans that promote relationship growth and healing
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Apply current research and evidence-based best practices in couples therapy to enhance treatment effectiveness
- Present and discuss client cases during individual and group supervision sessions to refine therapeutic approaches and ensure ethical standards
Required competencies and certifications
- Master's degree in Counselling or equivalent certification recognised by SAC
- Minimum of three years of counselling experience, preferably with clinical expertise in couples therapy
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage clients effectively
- Strong commitment to ethical practice and cultural sensitivity in therapeutic settings
- Availability to commit at least two days per week, including evening sessions, to provide counselling services
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Proficient knowledge and skills in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and/or equivalent approaches
