Job Description

At Great Eastern, Claims plays a critical role beyond processing — we are committed to delivering a fair, timely, and high-quality experience to our policyholders. We are currently seeking an Insurance Claims Recovery Specialist to join our Claims Department. As health insurance remains a key strategic focus for the organisation, this role is pivotal in strengthening our Third Party Claims Recovery capabilities and supporting the sustainability of our health portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing claims recovery efforts, including investigating recovery opportunities, engaging relevant stakeholders, and pursuing recovery from responsible third parties. You will also support service delivery to policyholders through effective subrogation processes. This position requires strong analytical and investigative skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with policyholders, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate fair and timely claim recoveries. We are looking for motivated individuals who take ownership of outcomes and contribute meaningfully to the department's financial and operational objectives.

The Job

  • Manage and execute claims recovery activities with accuracy and timeliness to achieve recovery targets
  • Engage and communicate with policyholders on a regular basis to gather relevant information and support submission of claims to third parties
  • Apply effective communication and influencing skills to guide and encourage policyholders to participate in the claims recovery process
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls with policyholders and financial representatives in accordance with established standard operating procedures
  • Ensure proper tracking, documentation, and updating of all activities and outcomes in the system
  • Liaise with hospitals, medical clinics, and other stakeholders to facilitate recovery efforts, including handling amended or cancelled e-filed claims
  • Actively monitor recoverable cases and follow up with relevant parties through timely reminders
  • Verify and process recovery-related information accurately, ensuring proper documentation and timely system updates
  • Ensure timely handling of recovery payments and follow-up on communication on recovery incentive for successful recovery.
  • Maintain compliance with data confidentiality, integrity, and security requirements at all times
  • Identify and assess business and regulatory risks, and take appropriate actions to mitigate such risks
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks to enhance recovery practices and safeguard the organisation
  • Proactively highlight potential issues or concerns and contribute to improvements in risk management and operational processes
  • Deliver consistent, professional, and high-quality service to policyholders, claimants, and business partners
  • Support process improvements and operational initiatives within claims recovery
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned by the supervisor
  • Diploma or Degree or Professional Insurance Certificate preferably 1 year of insurance claims recovery and/or claim handling experience in employee benefits;
  • Strong familiarity with administrative duties
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented;
  • Good interpersonal, analytical and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to implement feedback
  • Knowledge of life insurance policy coverage, statutes, regulations and subrogation processing is a major plus;
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
