Element has an opportunity for an Associate Chemist to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.
This role is based in Tuas Loop.
Job Duties:
- Conduct testing of environmental samples of wastewater, trade effluent. Leaching test of building materials. Suitability test of water
- Conduct chemical analysis using wet chemistry methods, HACH & APHA methodologies as well as ICP, TOC, IC, FTIR, UV_VIS instrumentation.
- Ensure reagents preparation, QA/QC and test methods are in compliance with ISO 17025 requirement.
- Upkeep equipment calibration, maintenance, and verification for lab quality management compliance.
- Perform sampling & on site testing when required
- Maintain 5S, Lab Safety Management and Chemical Inventory.
- Ensure chemicals and consumables availability and request for replenishment when necessary
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Process or Analytical course
- Proficient in using equipment eg IC, ICPMS, ICPOES, GC-MS could be added advantage
- In-depth understanding of testing concepts
- Ability to analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed
