Job Description

The Information Technology Department (ITD) provides a full range of technology services to all departments including the Front Office, Operations, Finance and Risk departments. The teams are also involved in Global projects and work collaboratively with other entities within Mizuho Group.

The developer will work towards implementing new and enhancing existing applications in the Back Office and Corporate space, including the middleware framework. This requires involvement in the full project life cycle from the initial project technical proposal through to analysis, design, implementation and subsequent production rollout and support.

The candidate will work closely with other IT teams as well as Back Office, Risk and Finance business departments to achieve department and company-wide goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project implementation with main focus on Risk Management
  • Participate in Back Office systems projects and enhancements. The work will involve the full life cycle of the SDLC including gathering user requirements, producing detailed specs, designing, coding, testing, deployment and post implementation support.
  • Take lead on Change Requests to ensure the change is well communicated to stakeholders and Mizuho Securities APAC's development standards and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure deliverables are meeting the requirement and timeline
  • Manage vendors on system enhancements to ensure the deliverables are within scope and timeline
  • Work collaboratively with all internal clients including business users, IT Support, Infrastructure and IT Governance
  • Provide support on day-to-day production problems and maintenance when required

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking environment
  • Strong understanding in trade settlement flow, trade reconciliation, regulatory reporting, risk management and corporate action
  • Solid business knowledge in Back Office/Risk Management Applications is highly preferable
  • Strong relational database skills and experience of Linux and Windows platforms
  • Extensive experience in C# and .Net Core
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge
  • Organized and capable on multi-tasking
  • Attention to details with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and good team player
  • Experience with Fixed Income, FX, Repo and Derivatives product knowledge is a plus
