Job Description

  • Develop, implement and maintain sustainable data products and/or systems to uplift our data team in their end-to-end data operation process; to bring in asset-level data on GIC's private markets investments into the GIC environment, with the focus on the ensuring the quality of the data provided by our partners

Create prototypes of data products based on user requirements to digitalize existing manual processes and collaborating with the technology group to systematize prototype created to the enterprise architecture

Ensure smooth execution of business-as-usual (BAU) processes through effective implementation of data products, providing technical support to maintain operational efficiency

Conduct user research and usability testing to ensure data products meet user needs and expectations, iterating on designs based on feedback to achieve optimal product-user fit

Adhere to Agile and DevOps practices in building data products by utilizing CI/CD pipelines and ensuring proper version control in code management

Develop comprehensive technical and user documentation for all data products developed, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible for users and developers

Provide continuous support and enhancements on the data product required, ensuring product uptime as per agreed SLA with the business

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders regarding data requirements and timelines

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technical Discipline
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in data solutioning, process re-engineering, and digital product development
  • Exposure to financial services industry is preferred, experience in private markets is a bonus
  • Possess knowledge and strong passion in data governance, data quality, and data management
  • Good engineering experience & practices in the following:
  • SQL, and/or any relational database/warehouse e.g. Postgres, Oracle, Snowflake
  • Python/Pandas/DBT/PySpark
  • Java / C# (.NET Core), and/or similar OOP frameworks
  • Unix, Shell scripting
  • Docker / Kubernetes / Github workflow, and/or other devops capabilities
  • AWS services such as Glue/Batch, S3, SQS, SNS, EKS
  • Federated query tools such as Denodo, Presto/Trino, Starburst
  • UIUX frameworks such as React, Angular
  • Ability to engage with business to understand business needs and translating them into data solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess strong learning agility, self-driven, pro-active, and great sense of purpose to relook on existing data usage
  • Comfortable in attaining new skills through use of new technology tools and systems
