The selected candidate will be part of our regional investment banking & advisory team which assists corporate clients in meeting their strategic and financial objectives. The candidate will work across industry groups and investment banking products including but nor limited to, public and private debt, equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, leverage finance and financial advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Natural Resources & Power Head on origination and execution of transactions in the coverage area
- Prepare and present materials used in client meetings, covering topics such as strategic initiatives, capital market conditions/activities and general corporate finance
- Lead the day-to-day project management and transaction execution
- Transaction execution management, from the pitch phase through to closing; and lead work streams such as due diligence, documentation, etc. including coordinating with other professionals such as auditors and legal counsel
- Building and reviewing detailed financial models and performing financial and valuation analysis and preparing presentation materials
- Research & update a database of peer operational & technical data across the natural resources & power sectors
- Manage and develop junior bankers by serving as a teaching resource and through the delegation of appropriate tasks
- Interface with clients on a range of topics including strategic initiatives and targets, fund raising structures and considerations and value creation
Key Requirements
- Outstanding academic record with a degree in Accountancy, Economics, Banking or Finance from a premier university
- At least 6 years of relevant investment banking and/or capital markets working experience
- Strong quantitative and technical abilities
- High degree of proficiency in corporate finance and financial modelling
- Drive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent inter-personal skills
- Strong communication, multi-tasking and time management skills
- Dedicated team player
