The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan's leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.
Purpose of the role:
The person is responsible for driving business growth through product innovation, cross-selling initiatives, and strategic partnerships, while supporting senior leadership with clear, executive-ready communications. This includes identifying market opportunities, shaping and launching new product ideas, developing and optimizing campaigns to increase customer penetration across lines, building and managing partner relationships to enhance offerings, and crafting compelling narratives and polished presentation.
This role will oversee the daily underwriting operation and referrals, maintaining the high customer service level.
Responsibilities:
· Develop clear, compelling storylines for senior leadership presentations (e.g., townhall updates, ExCo materials), translating complex content into an executive-ready narrative.
· Design and apply a consistent, polished look-and-feel (layout, typography, visuals, charts) aligned to brand and executive expectations.
· Develop and execute strategies to enhance cross-selling opportunities on GI customers to life and health insurance products.
· Work with internal stakeholders to create targeted campaigns and initiatives that promote cross-selling.
· Identify and establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including motor/travel/home providers, and other relevant organizations.
· Negotiate and manage partnership agreements to ensure mutual benefits and alignment with company goals.
· Identify and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to drive product innovation.
· Support product development & enhancement, market benchmarking, daily underwriting operations and referrals
Qualifications:
· Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field
· Certificate of General Insurance (BCP / PGI / CGI)
Experience:
· 5+ years experience in product/portfolio, growth marketing, partnerships, or strategic initiatives (financial services/insurance preferred).
· Understanding of go-to-market planning, customer segmentation and campaign measurement; familiarity with insurance products and distribution journeys; basic financial acumen to interpret business performance and trade-offs.
· Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; ability to craft executive narratives and produce high-quality PowerPoint decks (storyline, slide architecture, and visual design).
· Personal Lines underwriting experience, with working knowledge of rating, risk selection, referrals, policy/endorsement workflows and technical knowledge in products (e.g., motor, travel, home).
· Positive personality, proactive, able to work independently as well as in teams
