Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Analyst to join our research, advisory, and events team. The role spans independent research and analysis, investor-facing content, conference production, and digital tool development - with direct exposure to senior media and entertainment executives across Asia-Pacific. This is a high-ownership role suited to someone who can move fluidly between analytical rigour and hands-on execution in a fast-moving, lean team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce quarterly and premium country reports covering streaming platform performance, content investment trends, and competitive dynamics across Asia-Pacific markets, translating complex data into clear, decision-ready insights for a senior subscriber base
  • Conduct independent research for corporate and pre-IPO clients in the media, telecommunications, and technology sectors, including executive interviews, financial review, and synthesis of findings for investor audiences
  • Support investor relations and advisory mandates, including preparation of information memoranda, investment teasers, and pitch materials reviewing business plans, financial statements, and capital structures and developing tailored outreach strategies for capital raises in the Asia-Pacific entertainment sector
  • Drive end-to-end production of APOS, MPA's flagship annual conference for 500+ senior media and entertainment executives, across speaker and sponsor management, attendee communications, show dailies, and on-site operations
  • Build digital tools and assets - including conference websites, email campaigns, and networking app architecture - to drive visibility and value creation for MPA's intellectual property and flagship events
  • Present findings and recommendations directly to internal stakeholders and external clients

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field from a QS Top 50 university
  • Demonstrated analytical capability with experience turning data and market research into structured, publishable outputs
  • Strong writing skills across formats - research reports, investor materials, editorial content, and stakeholder communications
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-workstream projects end-to-end with real accountability for output quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint familiarity with Power BI, Canva, Mailchimp, Framer, HTML/CSS, or website-building platforms is an advantage
  • Genuine knowledge and interest in the Asia-Pacific video, streaming, and entertainment landscape - platform dynamics, content trends, and audience behaviour
  • Comfort operating in a lean, senior-facing environment where initiative and ownership are expected from day one
  • Curiosity about emerging technology and AI workflows, and willingness to apply new tools to improve speed and output quality

What Success Looks Like

  • Research outputs and investor materials that meet the standards of a professional advisory firm's paying subscriber and client base
  • Flagship conferences and events delivered flawlessly, with polished sponsor and stakeholder communications throughout
  • Proactive identification of tools, workflows, and solutions that improve the team's speed, quality, and impact - without being asked
