About The Role

As part of the continued growth of our regional insurance practice, the international insurance team based in Singapore is seeking a 1-2PQE associate to support the team on a range of insurance coverage matters and disputes. The Associate will report to Partner, Priya Gobal.

This is an exciting opportunity for a top-quality Associate to join a Band-1 market-leading team which focuses on regional, complex and high-value coverage matters across a range of insurance business lines including Financial Lines, Casualty, Credit Risk and Reinsurance.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Assist Partners on a range of complex and large-scale insurance matters
  • Researching and drafting of documentation, advice and correspondence
  • Helping to oversee a broad range of contentious matters and litigation activities (including the conduct of arbitration and management of local counsel in contentious matters globally)
  • Assisting the Partners in managing and building client relationships, including assisting with business development activities for key existing clients and new clients.

Candidate Profile

  • The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Singapore qualified
  • Solid private practice background with a reputable law firm
  • Exposure / experience in insurance space is helpful but not a prerequisite
  • Strong commercial litigation / arbitration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding academic results
  • Technical excellence, personal effectiveness and ability to perform as a team player
  • Enthusiasm to contribute to and foster a positive team atmosphere..
