Job Description
Purpose
We are looking for passionate and inquisitive individuals to join our Business Risk Control and Management Advisory (BRCM) team in Group Wholesale Bankings Anti-Financial Crime Controls (AFC Controls). As business risk control and management advisory specialist, you will assume responsibilities to provide advisories on investigations triggers in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews and provide advisory on corporate fraud and financial crime risks in accordance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies.
- Review investigation memos to balance risk identified with mitigation control measures.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., Investigators, Relationship Managers, Business Units) to obtain clarification on corporate fraud and financial crime risks.
- Post review to document advice and provide inputs on appropriate account strategy to mitigate fraud and financial crime risks identified.
- Support Business Units to respond to fraud and financial crime related issues and queries from both internal and external stakeholders (including the authorities and correspondent banks).
- Ensure timely reporting and escalation of significant risk issues to management.
- Maintain register to track teams performance.
- Appraise management on statistics and cases of interest.
- Actively engage/participate in project work and liaise with relevant stakeholders (e.g., Compliance, system vendors, IT) for future system developments.
- Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) on the Banks systems where applicable.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities:
- Graduate Degree from a recognized university (preferably Accountancy, Banking, Economics or Law) or relevant professional qualification in financial services or audit.
- At least 5 years working experience in corporate financial crime advisory within the Banking Industry.
- Strong risk culture mindset and attention to details.
- Deep understanding of business practices for SMEs, large corporations and financial institutions.
- Strong knowledge of sanctions, tax evasion, misuse of legal persons, trade-based money laundering red flags and regulation.
- Able to implement Banks compliance of MAS 626 Notice.
- Team player with strong inter-personal and communication skills and ability to network, engage and influence business stakeholders independently.
- Excellent written report skills and skilled in MS office suites.
