Job Description

Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan's leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Product Development

During this rotation, the trainee will gain exposure to endtoend product development, including:

  • Understanding marketing strategy in product development, including brand and concept creation.
  • Supporting customer needs analysis, segmentation, target setting, and insights gathering.
  • Conducting market research, competitor analysis, and data interpretation to inform product direction.
  • Learning sales strategies by channel and contributing to sales plan development.
  • Understanding customersatisfactionimproving measures, including aftersales service systems.
  • Supporting postlaunch monitoring through data collection and improvement activities based on customer feedback.

Key Competencies Developed:

  • Product strategy, research & insights, commercial thinking, crossfunctional collaboration.

Distribution

  • Gain insights into FA performance assessment frameworks, training programs, team structures, and sales support activities.
  • Understand promotional initiatives for FA and customers
  • Conduct interviews and study FA motivation levers including KPI and targetsetting methods.
  • Learn the full FA sales cycle-from initial contact to contract closing-including relationship building, need stimulation, living cost calculation, proposal, and closure.

Key Competencies Developed:

  • Distribution strategy, sales enablement, customer engagement, advisory operations.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, or equivalent
  • Strong analytical mindset and curiosity for customer insights and product strategy.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
  • Selfmotivated with a growth mindset and willingness to learn.
