Job Description

The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time.

Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan's leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Purpose Of The Role

  • Contribute to the growth and profitability of assigned renewal portfolios.
  • Collation of the business unit's financial performance and reporting
  • Maintain high renewal persistency to achieve the business targets
  • Work with SFA channel to promote cross-selling of individual products
  • Participate in projects to expand and create growth in career progression

Role Attributes

  • Oversight of renewal quotations for brokers source assigned

Key Responsibilities

Financial

  • Achieve annual business targets and IFRS set
  • Maintain minimum 90% renewal persistency rate
  • Upsell new lines of Life products to existing clients
  • Work with SFA channel to promote cross-selling of individual products

Non-Financial

  • Build, manage, and grow strong relationships with assigned brokers, intermediaries, and corporate clients
  • Proactively engage intermediaries through regular meetings, joint client discussions, and presentations.
  • Support and participate in corporate sales pitches and employee communication sessions as required
  • Manage the end ‑ to ‑ end renewal process for assigned group policies, including renewal invitations, data collection, and documentation
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of renewal data, employee information, and placement documentation for billing and endorsements
  • Maintain accurate and timely renewal status updates for management reporting and sales forecasting
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Operations, Billing, and Provider Teams to ensure smooth servicing and delivery in line with agreed
  • Ensure premium collections are completed within approved credit terms
  • Ensure risks are underwritten and accepted in accordance with business acceptance, underwriting, profitability, and risk management guidelines
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, internal governance standards, and Fit & Proper obligations
  • Participate in required sales training, CPD programmes, and professional development activities
  • Undertake other projects assigned from time to time, including product/service enhancements and client or market engagement events

Experience

Requirements:

  • Preferably with 5 years of experience in Employee Benefits industry and sound knowledge of Life and Health Insurance

Capability

  • Able to work independently
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Strong Communications and Negotiation skills

Education

  • Recognized university degree; or at least GCE A level or Diploma with relevant professional insurance qualifications
  • Capital Markets & Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) Exams: Modules 5 & 9 (CLI, ILP equivalent).
  • Certificate in Health Insurance
