We are supporting a leading global specialty insurer in the search for an Assistant Underwriter to join its Fine Art, Jewellery & Specie underwriting team in Singapore. This role offers strong exposure to underwriting operations, broker engagement, and bespoke risk solutions across the Asia-Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing new and renewal submissions, endorsements, and policy amendments in line with underwriting guidelines.
- Support the assessment of risk exposures, pricing considerations, and contract structures to ensure portfolio profitability.
- Monitor premium income, claims trends, and account performance, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Ensure underwriting documentation meets internal control standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide pre-binding and post-binding support, including reviewing slips, quotations, certificates, endorsements, closings, bordereaux, and statements.
- Liaise with internal operations teams to ensure accurate and timely system entry of underwriting data.
- Track outstanding documentation, renewals, and premium payments, working closely with credit control teams.
- Produce reports, statistics, presentations, and ad-hoc analysis to support underwriting and business development initiatives.
- Act as a key point of contact for operational and administrative queries throughout the policy lifecycle.
- Assist with regional relationship development initiatives alongside underwriters.
