Job Description
Monitor and follow up fleet technical issues, breakdowns, and recurring defects, perform defect and root cause analysis, and assist in developing effective preventive measures.
-Coordinate closely with vessels to collect technical feedback, defect reports, and operational inputs to support continuous fleet performance improvement.
-Carry out technical data analysis and KPI monitoring, including fleet technical KPIs, PMS performance, defect trends, and reliability indicators, and prepare reports for management review.
-Monitor fleet Planned Maintenance System (PMS) performance, including overdue items, and maintenance compliance, and work closely with vessels and PMS teams to improve PMS effectiveness.
-Assess and monitor critical spares inventory, availability, and consumption trends to ensure fleet readiness and operational reliability.
-Prepare technical presentations, reports, dashboards, and meeting minutes, and issue technical circulars and advisories to vessels as required.
-Maintain fleet technical documentation and records, ensuring all documentation is complete and readily available for internal, external, statutory, class, and customer audits.
-Confirm and verify all technical documentation pre- and post-dockings, MOC, and new vessel deliveries, ensuring completeness and proper handover.
-Support audits and inspections, including ISM, ISPS, ISO, vetting, class, and flag audits, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
-Coordinate with QCG / HSSE teams on health, safety, security, and environmental matters, including incident follow-up and implementation of corrective measures.
-Monitor new regulations, class rules, and statutory requirements, and coordinate with QCG and vessels to ensure timely implementation across the fleet.
-Monitor vessel hull, machinery, and environmental performance, including CII and energy efficiency, and propose feasible energy-saving and emission-reduction measures.
-Review maker circulars, technical bulletins, and service letters, and disseminate relevant information to vessels and internal stakeholders.
-Support fleet budget monitoring and cost control, assist in docking cost reviews, and support general fleet and group technical communication and coordination.
-Provide technical support to the assigned Technical Superintendent (TSI) and act as deputy during TSI absence, including support during docking, new deliveries, and critical vessel operations.
Job Requirement
-Class 1 Certified Marine Engineer with minimum 1 year sailing experience in rank,OR Class 2 Certified Marine Engineer with minimum 3 years sailing experience in rank.
-Dry docking experience preferred, including participation in planning, execution, and post-docking follow-up.
-Prior shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent (TSI) or Assistant TSI is preferred.
-Strong knowledge of ship machinery systems, PMS, defect management, and technical troubleshooting.
-Familiarity with classification society, flag state, HSSE and statutory requirements, including new regulations and rule changes.
-Experience in environmental performance monitoring, including CII and energy efficiency initiatives, is an advantage.
-Strong communication, analytical and coordination skills for effective interaction with vessels, vendors, and internal stakeholders
