COMPANY DESCRIPTION
THKMC was incorporated on 13 October 2011 as a charity to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large, and achieved an Institute of Public Character (IPC) status on 18 November 2011. THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, which lives by the mission - To Serve Mankind - to help anyone who needs help regardless of their race, religion, colour, language, creed and culture. THKMC today serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five Services, which include Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors Community, and Therapy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To oversee the Social Work Department in their assigned centre(s) and work towards achieving the Centre's mission and vision by having close partnership with the Therapy Department, Teaching Department, Administrative Department and families of the children.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Social Work Practice and Case Management Oversight
- Provide professional guidance to Social Workers (SW) and Social Work Associates (SWA) to ensure quality case management and family support services.
- Support the team in conducting assessments, intervention planning and case reviews to address the developmental and psychosocial needs of children and families.
- Provide consultation and support for complex cases where required.
- Ensure case documentation, reports and case recordings are accurate and updated in a timely manner.
- Maintain a personal caseload of approximately 20-25 active cases, providing direct social work intervention, case management and family engagement, while balancing supervisory and operational responsibilities.
2.Staff Supervision and Professional Development
- Supervise Social Workers and Social Work Associates to ensure effective case management, ethical practice and service delivery.
- Conduct regular individual and group supervision sessions to support reflective practice, professional growth and staff wellbeing.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals and provide ongoing performance feedback for Social Workers.
- Orientate new Social Workers to the Centre's ethos, processes and job responsibilities.
- Identify training needs and support continuous professional development and capability building within the Social Work team.
3. Operations, Administration and Compliance
- Ensure smooth implementation of social work processes and service delivery within the centre.
- Maintain consistency in social work practices, documentation standards and case management approaches across the team
- Assign cases referred from SG Enable to appropriate Social Work staff.
- Manage manpower matters such as duty coverage and leave planning within the team.
- Ensure student enrolment at the centre meets operational capacity targets where relevant to social work processes.
- Ensure timely submission of statistical reports to relevant government agencies.
- Support the centre in meeting requirements for audits, including muster audits and other regulatory compliance checks.
4. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaborative Partnerships
- Work collaboratively with internal professionals such as Teachers, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Physiotherapists to ensure holistic intervention for children.
- Support and guide Social Workers in participating in case discussions, case conferences and transdisciplinary meetings.
- Ensure effective engagement with parents and caregivers to support their understanding of their child's developmental needs and the intervention programme.
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with community agencies such as Family Service Centres (FSCs), Social Service Offices (SSOs) and other relevant organisations to support integrated care for children and families.
5. Programme Development and Family Engagement
- Guide and support the Social Work team in planning and facilitating family-focused programmes such as Parent Orientation, Parent Support Groups and Sibling Workshops.
- Support centre-based initiatives aimed at empowering families and strengthening caregiver support networks.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum Degree or Post Graduate Qualifications in Social Work
- More than 3 years experience as a Social Worker
- Supervisory experience in social work or related human service settings is preferred
