We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager in the execution of waterproofing projects across residential, commercial, and industrial buildings in Singapore. The role involves coordinating site activities, ensuring quality workmanship, assisting in technical execution, and preparing detailed project documentation and reports.
The ideal candidate should be familiar with construction site coordination, waterproofing systems, safety compliance, and technical reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Coordination & Project Execution
Assist Project Manager in planning and execution of waterproofing works (roofs, basements, planter boxes, wet areas, carparks, etc.).
- Coordinate daily site activities with supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, method statements, and specifications.
- Monitor site progress and highlight delays, risks, and technical issues.
2. Waterproofing Technical Support
Support execution of waterproofing systems including:
- Liquid-applied membranes
- Torch-on membranes
- Cementitious waterproofing
- Basement slab/wall waterproofing
- RC /METAL roof waterproofing/Roof Casting
- PU injection and crack repair works
- Assist in surface preparation checks, joint detailing, fillet works, and termination works.
- Assist in conducting water ponding tests and follow-up rectification works.
- Ensure proper workmanship quality and compliance with project requirements.
3. Quality Control & Site Inspection
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure works meet quality standards.
- Identify defects, non-conformance, and ensure timely rectification.
- Maintain quality checklists for each stage of waterproofing works.
- Assist in preparing inspection records and quality documentation.
4. Safety Management
- Ensure all site activities comply with Singapore safety regulations and company safety policies.
- Assist in implementation of RA (Risk Assessment), SWP (Safe Work Procedures), and PTW (Permit to Work).
- Ensure safe practices for working at height, confined space entry, and chemical handling.
- Support toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
5. Documentation & Technical Reporting
- Prepare daily site reports with progress updates and photographic records.
- Prepare and maintain all project documentation including RFIs, MIRs, WIRs, and material records.
- Prepare incident reports for site accidents, near-misses, or safety breaches..
- Assist in investigation reports, including root cause analysis for site issues or defects..
- Prepare technical findings reports and propose corrective / preventive solutions..
- Support preparation of method statements, shop drawings, and material submissions.
- Assist in project progress claims and subcontractor documentation.
6. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and main contractors on site matters.
- Attend site meetings and assist in preparation of meeting minutes.
- Coordinate material deliveries, manpower allocation, and site logistics.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in construction or waterproofing works preferred.
- Strong knowledge of waterproofing systems and site detailing is an advantage.
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiar with Singapore construction safety regulations.
- Good technical writing and reporting skills.
