Established in 2001 as the second school in SMU, the School of Accountancy (SoA) offers the distinctive programmes: Bachelor of Accountancy, Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Science in Accounting (Data and Analytics), SMU-ZJU Doctor of Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) and PhD in Accounting. The School pursues excellence by offering academic programmes that are responding to the needs of accounting and finance professionals. On the research front, SoA continues to receive international recognition for its research productivity.
Since 2020, SoA has been ranked Top 3 in the world for Archival Research (All Topics and Financial Accounting) and Top 10 globally, in Citation Rankings and in All Areas and All Disciplines, in the Brigham Young University (BYU) accounting research rankings. The position requires a PhD degree in accounting. We are interested in candidates specializing in any of the following areas: artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability. Candidates should have outstanding records in teaching, are expected to be involved in pedagogical and curricula development in their area of specialization at both the undergraduate and graduate level, possess potential in conducting research, and a strong desire to serve the School. Candidates applying for Practice Track faculty position should also have strong industry experience and are committed to be actively involved in industry engagement.
