Assistant Principal Engineer (Optimization)

We are seeking an Assistant Principal Engineer (Optimization) to support both our Aerospace OEM and MRO operations. You will apply optimization techniques to scheduling, resource assignment and allocation type of use cases. You will be required to work closely with application developers and production subject matter experts to roll out impactful solutions for the organisation.

Job Description

• This is an individual contributor role
• Design, build and deploy optimization solutions on AWS
• Provide L2/L3 level support for optimization solutions in production
• Develop optimization solutions for use cases such as hangar scheduling and manpower planning optimization
• Collaborate with application developers, MRO planners and other teams to enable data-driven decision-making

Job Requirement

• Master's degree in industrial engineering or equivalent, with a focus on mathematical optimization
• At least 3 years of experience in building mathematical optimization models
• Familiarity with linear programming, non-linear programming, constraint programming and heuristics
• Possesses strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Self-driven and independent problem solver who is comfortable managing his/her own projects
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualisation tools
• Familiarity with foundational AWS services and cloud concepts
• Familiarity with code version control solutions, containerization tools and agile project management solutions
