Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and creative Assisant Pastry Chef to work in our pastry section and create high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods that delight our customers. You will be responsible and helping for developing menus, preparing recipes, and ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and presentation with our Pastry Head Chef.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and produce a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked goods.
- Create seasonal and signature items that align with our brand concept.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations for the pastry section, ensuring food quality and consistency.
- Train, supervise, and mentor junior pastry staff or kitchen assistants.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards set by SFA (Singapore Food Agency).
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage wastage effectively.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and management team on menu development and cost control.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Formal culinary or pastry training
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and food presentation.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Creativity and passion for desserts and innovative recipes.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiar with food safety and hygiene practices in Singapore.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in caf-style or boutique bakery environments.
- Knowledge of local and international dessert trends.
- Ability to develop plant-based or health-conscious dessert options.
