Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in carrying out routine inspections of marine engines, mechanical equipment, and vessel systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Support the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of engines, pumps, generators, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Assist senior engineers and technicians in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in the installation, testing, commissioning, and upgrading of mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance records, service reports, inspection checklists, work permits, and other engineering documentation.
  • Update equipment maintenance history, spare parts inventory records, and technical documents to ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Coordinate with site personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and vessel crew to support maintenance and project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring equipment performance and reporting any abnormalities or defects.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties and engineering tasks assigned by the Management.

Requirements

  • Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Higher NITEC, Diploma, or above in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Candidates with internship, attachment, or relevant working experience in marine, construction, heavy equipment, or mechanical maintenance industries will have an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, diesel engines, pumps, hydraulic systems, and rotating equipment is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain engineering reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation accurately.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to work in shipyards, onboard vessels, and project sites when required.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
