Responsibilities
Outward Reinsurance
- Review and approve quarterly treaty closings, SOAs, and reconciliations with GL.
- Validate profit commission calculations, XOL claims, reinstatement premiums, and indexation.
- Ensure timely settlement and collection of balances with reinsurers.
- Review quarterly treaty statistics, large claims reports, and support annual renewals.
Inward Reinsurance
- Review and approve inward treaty statements and timely system bookings.
- Prepare and review sliding scale commissions, loss participation, and profit commissions.
- Monitor ageing reports and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Review monthly treaty closings, reconciliations, cash calls, PLA/RLA bookings, and IFRS 17 EPI reports.
Retrocession
- Prepare month-end inward-to-retro reconciliations.
- Review and approve retrocession SOAs prior to rendering
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in reinsurance, with strong exposure to technical accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset.
