Job Description

Summary

As Assistant Manager, Sustainability (Social & Governance), you'll strengthen Scoot's ESG reporting backbone - owning key social and governance disclosures, improving data quality and controls, and coordinating inputs across the business. You'll also support ESG target setting and tracking, coordinate our internal Sustainability Working Committee, and help increase staff awareness through internal communications and events. A key part of your impact will be streamlining ESG data collection by contributing to a new system implementation to automate and simplify reporting workflows.

Sustainability Reporting, ESG Data Management, Controls & Audit-Readiness (Social & Governance focus)

  • Lead end-to-end preparation of assigned ESG sections for external sustainability reporting under parent company.
  • Translate reporting requirements into guidance notes for data contributors.
  • Work with concerned data providers to draft narrative disclosures on social and governance topics with clear linkage to data and outcomes.
  • Coordinate review cycles with key data providers and approvers and ensure timely approvals. Review and improve practical reporting controls (e.g. data checks, signoffs, version control) across the reporting workflow. Be a linkage between parent company and internal business units for Sustainability Reporting (SR).
  • Work with data contributors to review and improve data governance including definitions, methodologies and boundaries, and drive data quality with them with validation checks, reconciliations and exception management.
  • Benchmark disclosures against peers and best practices to continuously raise reporting quality and clarity.
  • Guide data contributors on maintaining audit-ready documentation and evidence to support internal audit requirements.
  • Support internal audit activities from parent company and coordinate with concerned data providers to respond to auditor queries with clear, timely responses and supporting documentation.
  • Track developments in reporting standards and regulations (e.g., ISSB/IFRS S1/S2, GRI, TCFD and local requirements where applicable) and assess implications to Scoot.

ESG Data Process Improvement & System Implementation

  • Contribute to the ongoing implementation of a new system to streamline and automate ESG data collection (e.g. UAT, data migration/validation, user training).
  • Review current-state ESG data collection processes for the SR and identify pain points, gaps, and opportunities for automation.
  • Monitor post-implementation performance and drive continuous improvements to increase system usage and reduce manual effort and cycle time.

ESG Target Setting & Performance Tracking

  • Support the development and refresh of Scoot's ESG targets (especially social and governance KPIs), ensuring they are measurable, time-bound, and aligned to business priorities and parent company ambitions. Work with concerned business units on setting relevant targets to achieve these.
  • Identify areas where clear actions can be taken to make company processes more sustainable and coordinate target-setting discussions with metric owners, including assumptions, baselines, methodologies, and feasibility considerations.
  • Maintain a central ESG KPI tracker and reporting cadence, highlighting performance, risks, and actions needed to stay on track.
  • Prepare periodic performance updates for leadership and internal governance forums.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen measurement approaches and systemize tracking over time.

Sustainability Working Committee Coordination

  • Coordinate regular internal Sustainability Working Committee meetings, including agenda planning, pre-reads, scheduling, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Capture minutes, decisions, and action items, and drive timely follow-up with owners to ensure closure.
  • Maintain a consolidated log of committee actions, risks, and interdependencies across workstreams.
  • Provide clear progress updates to support decision-making and escalation where needed.
  • Improve meeting cadence and ways of working to keep collaboration efficient and outcomes focused.

Sustainability Communications & Event Planning

  • Develop and deliver internal sustainability communications (e.g., intranet posts) to raise staff awareness on Sustainability matters. Translate sustainability goals, targets, and reporting outcomes into simple, relevant content for employees across functions. Partner HR teams and sustainability champions to align messages and maintain a consistent internal narrative.
  • Gather feedback and engagement insights (e.g., reach, participation, pulse feedback) to refine communications and improve impact.
  • Maintain an internal sustainability content calendar to support key milestones and campaigns.
  • Ensure the Sustainability section of the company website is kept up to date with factual, information on Scoot's Sustainability initiatives.
  • Support Corporate Communications team in relation to any external communications regarding Sustainability matters.
  • Plan and deliver 1-2 internal sustainability events annually (e.g. Sustainability showcase, guest speakers, workshops, etc.). Coordinate event budget, logistics, pre and post event internal communications as required. Work with internal business units and stakeholders to curate relevant content for staff. Track event outcomes, including attendance, feedback, learnings, and incorporate improvements into future activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Sustainability, Business, Accounting, Risk Management, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in sustainability reporting, ESG governance, audit/assurance, risk, or corporate reporting.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks/standards (e.g., GRI, ISSB/IFRS S1/S2, TCFD) and assurance concepts.
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end reporting cycles with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.
  • Strong writing skills with experience drafting clear, evidence-backed disclosures and executive-ready summaries.
  • Strong data discipline: able to define metrics, analyze and validate data, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Experience in establishing ESG data controls, methodologies, and governance (including documentation for assurance).
  • Experience in supporting system implementation and/or process automation (e.g., requirements gathering, UAT, change management).
  • Experience in performance management/target setting and maintaining KPI trackers for cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint; Power BI or similar tools for dashboards is an advantage.
  • Experience in aviation, transport, or other regulated industries with strong governance expectations.
