The Office of Patient Engagement (OPEN) brings patient and public voices into medical research and education in LKCMedicine. OPEN works with researchers and educators to integrate patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) into their work, connecting them to patients and the community.
As the Assistant Manager/Senior Executive, Patient and Public Involvement, you will be part of the team to grow patient and public involvement (PPI) for medical research. You will be supporting a collaborative project to develop a national guidance document on patient and public involvement (PPI) in medical research and clinical trials in Singapore. In addition, you will be working on PPI in precision medicine and set up of a lived experience partner registry. You will also be developing strong partnerships with stakeholders in the medical research and healthcare eco-system and to organise events and develop resources towards the development and dissemination of the PPI guidance document.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who has a strong interest in patient and community involvement in research and healthcare and has excellent communication and organisational skills, to build PPI capability.
Responsibilities:
Engage with stakeholders involved in developing PPI
Organise meetings, workshops, seminars and events
Develop and implement an outreach plan for the dissemination of the PPI Guidance Document
Manage web resource development to house the PPI Guidance Document
Produce communication materials (eg. EDMs, reports, social media content) on the PPI Guidance Document project and assigned projects for outreach to researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals and patient partners.
Provide administrative support for the PPI Guidance Document, OPEN Circle (Lived Experience Partner Registry) and PPI in precision medicine project.
Requirements:
Degree from an accredited university
Possess at least 3 years of relevant working experience
Experience in health promotion/patient experience/communications and advocacy/outreach and partnership in healthcare/social care/community care and medical research settings.
Experience in organising events and workshops, and in developing online resources (including websites) is advantageous
Experience in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) and working with patient organisations is advantageous
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and versatility in working with people from diverse backgrounds: from researchers and clinicians to patients advocates
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Resourceful and possess strong initiative to drive change
Team-player with pleasant disposition and outgoing personality
