About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to support the management and daily operations of our residential care services for female children and youths. You will supervise staff, ensure quality care delivery, and contribute to a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for residents. This role requires strong leadership, case management oversight, and experience working in residential care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily residential operations in the female dormitories to ensure a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
  • Supervise, guide and support a team of care staff and professionals, including performance management and staff development.
  • Provide oversight of case management, especially complex cases and ensuring care plans are implemented effectively and aligned with residents needs.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Support incident management, risk assessment and safeguarding practices to protect residents wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including families, schools, hospitals and community agencies.
  • Conduct case reviews, case conferences and contribute to care planning and intervention strategies.
  • Guide and support staff training in trauma-informed care and best practices in residential care.
  • Oversee administrative duties including reporting, documenting quality checks and audits.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Graduate Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience, including supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in residential care setting serving children and youths.
  • Strong knowledge of case management, trauma-informed care and child protection practices.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organisational, documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and commitment to child welfare.
