Job Description

The well-being of our seafarers is the foundation of our operational success and global reputation. In this role, you will lead the charge in fostering a supportive, safe, and healthy environment for our fleet from our Singapore office. This is a critical role where your empathy and maritime expertise will directly impact the mental and physical health of our diverse workforce at sea.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination for all physical and mental welfare concerns across the global fleet.
  • Design and implement crew welfare strategies, including mental health campaigns and onboard well-being toolkits.
  • Supervise the welfare follow-up of active medical cases and coordinate with insurance and medical providers.
  • Lead anti-harassment, anti-bullying, and anti-discrimination initiatives and oversee formal complaint investigations.
  • Manage welfare aspects of compassionate cases, family emergencies, and emergency repatriations.
  • Promote and monitor compliance with the company drug and alcohol zero-tolerance policy.
  • Support the professional integration and welfare of female seafarers to ensure a respectful working environment.
  • Conduct pre-joining welfare briefings focused on mental health, grievances, and company support resources.
  • Train marine HR operations teams on welfare-sensitive communication and early identification of mental health concerns.
  • Assist the manager with daily marine HR operational tasks, including sign-on coordination and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marine HR or crew management operations.
  • Prior sailing experience, preferably at master or chief officer rank.
  • Thorough knowledge of MLC 2006, STCW, and maritime regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience in crew welfare initiatives or medical case management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with crew management systems like COMPAS.
  • Exceptional training and mentoring capabilities to build a welfare-conscious culture.
