THIS IS A 2-YEAR CONTRACT ROLE
The jobholder will be responsible for the overall project management of the Large Platforms Display at the NS Square Atrium, providing oversight of timelines and budgets across four key workstreams - rigging, transportation of platforms, design and build, and light and sound show - to ensure all workstreams remain on track towards project milestones.
The jobholder will also: (a) serve as workstream lead for the rigging and transportation of platforms, as well as the build phase of the Large Platforms Display, taking direct ownership of driving progress and resolving issues in these areas and (b) support the workstream lead for the light and show to coordinate the infrastructure and hardware requirements for the show and ensure a coherent visitor experience.
This role requires a hands-on approach to managing timelines, resolving issues, and keeping stakeholders aligned and accountable. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, given the need to work closely with SAF and Home Team stakeholders and navigate multiple agencies and external partners simultaneously. The ideal candidate is someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable driving progress across complex, multi-party workstreams while escalating issues in a timely manner.
Job Description:
Overall Project Management of Large Platforms Display. Track and oversee the timeline and budget for the Large Platforms Display at the NS Square Atrium across four workstreams - rigging, transportation, design and build, and light and sound show. Maintain a clear picture of interdependencies across workstreams and monitor progress to ensure the project is on track from planning to execution. Escalate issues where necessary and in a timely manner to prevent downstream impact on the overall completion of project.
Serve as Secretariat for key operations and plans meetings between Nexus (NSG), NS Square Project Office (NSPO), DCS and other vendors, including raising agenda, tracking outstanding issues, minutes and post-meeting follow-ups and stakeholder coordination.
Support workstream lead for the light and sound show by coordinating the infrastructure and hardware requirements for the show.
Workstream Lead Rigging and Transportation of Platforms. Work with the SAF, the Home Team, DCS Exhibition and Volunteers Management (EVM) team, and vendors (e.g. exhibition design firm) to facilitate the pre-installation planning, coordination, movement, and subsequently on-site management of installation of complex logistics of military platforms from the SAF and the Home Team. This includes working closely with the SAF and Home Team departments to ensure that the assets are refurbished on schedule and fit for showcase, ensuring that the movement and installation of military platforms are all done safely with adherence to the building structure of the Atrium.
In particular, coordinate with vendors and various stakeholders on the construction of the structure of the submarine walkthrough display, ensuring that the components are designed, fabricated and delivered on time and safely.
Workstream Lead for Build Phase of Large Platforms Display. Guide the DCS EVM team and vendors to deliver on the build aspect of individual platform experience at the Atrium. This would also include ensuring that other related components such as the crowd management plan, exhibition lighting design, wayfinding design, security camera and systems are fit for purpose.
Challenges:
This role requires strong proactiveness and ambition to deliver a world-class Gallery, alongside adaptability to changes. The successful candidate must help to position the NSG to world-class standards, building strong public interest in both the Atrium and the physical Gallery experience. As the project is underway, priorities and plans may evolve, requiring the ability to adapt quickly while remaining responsible, timely and collaborative. The role also involves working with various stakeholders across agencies and partners, requiring sensitivity to differing perspectives while maintaining clarity of purpose and ensuring the Gallery's objectives and requirements are met
Job Requirements:
Educational Requirements: A good honours degree with a keen interest in Singapore's social and military history.
The jobholder should preferably have 5 years of relevant work experience in project management for exhibitions, events or campaigns with experience managing multiple stakeholders and vendors for creative deliverables.
The jobholder should have a strong command of both spoken and written English, with excellent communication skills to simplify technical speak into simple terms.
Possess excellent interpersonal and project management skills to work collaboratively with others.
Independent worker with strong problem-solving skills and comfortable in managing multiple moving parts.
